Maria Fortune, in addition to being licensed to practice law in Alabama, is licensed to practice law in Colorado and Washington DC.  Maria has been practicing law for over 10 years, and has served as a private attorney, a deputy public defender, an assistant city attorney, and a special sitting judge. Maria Fortune has efficiently and effectively represented families dealing with family law issues, personal injury matters, and criminal allegations.  Maria Fortune graduated from the University of Denver School of Law with the honor of winning a Scholastic Excellence Award in Advanced Family Law.  Maria Fortune served as an Assistant City Attorney for the Child Protection Unit in Denver, Colorado.  Although Maria truly enjoyed seeking justice for families and children in Denver, Alabama is home for the Fortune family.  The experienced gained from practicing in a larger metropolitan area provides a solid foundation for Maria Fortune to utilize a sophisticated approach to seeking justice for families and children.

In Alabama, Maria has successfully represented hundreds of clients in numerous cities and counties throughout Alabama; including Jefferson county, Shelby county, Tuscaloosa county, St. Clair county, Etowah county, Madison county, Birmingham, Montgomery, Mobile, and Huntsville.  In addition to being a zealous advocate for families and children, Maria Fortune is an active member of various professional organizations, including the Birmingham Bar Association.  Maria treats every client with respect and professionalism.
